Rainy Artifacts

When I was going through the golf images that I mentioned last week, looking for the best takes to process, I noticed this strange artifacting.  It took me a minute to figure out where this weirdness was coming from.

Once I remembered that it started raining at the end of the shoot, I figured out those streaks were actually the rain shooting across the frame.  The camera was at 1/160 for shutter speed.  Took a few extra seconds with the patch tool to remove the anomaly.  Just thought it was interesting.

  1. Nice looking streaks, like star trails but in daytime. Maybe time to try a “Rain” shoot one day? Of course with some sort of rain cape for the camera/lens.
