Calculating Price Paid Per Credit

Many times on iStockphoto, a contributor will be concerned that the royalty paid out for a certain size download is incorrect. Since IS sells credits anywhere from $.50 – $1.50, there is a wide range of amounts that could be paid out for any size purchase. You can use the calculator below to see if your royalty payment falls in, or close to, the range mentioned above.

Note, that this equation will round the price per credit down, as I believe this is how IS calculates it. ie. pricePerCredit = (royaltyAmount/percentage)/creditsUsed gives an amount of $.50566, it will tell you $.50, not $.51

  1. Great tool. Do you know what your average credit price was last year? I changed royalty rates during the year so it is a little hard to work out.
