Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! We were out of town, so we’re having Thanksgiving Thursday this week so I can cook up some goodness and have leftovers for a few days. Who doesn’t love a turkey-stuffing-cranberry sauce, .etc sandwich. Don’t forget the moist-maker! Anyhow, back to business. It’s the holiday season, and that means my annual charity drive based how much you buy from my iStockphoto portfolio ( previous blogs can be found here ). The drive will be next week, but I had to jump the gun today – keep reading.
One of the great organizations I give to is “Give Kids the World“. Give Kids the World provides a places for seriously ill children, and their families, to get away from real life, and relax and enjoy all the attractions Orlando has to offer. Well, tomorrow is “Giving Tuesday”, and an anonymous donor is matching up to $10,000 in donations. The point of me blogging about the charity drive is to encourage donations to these organizations, and I’d be remiss if I missed an opportunity to double my donation, and tell you about it as well, so you can take advantage.
What I am going to do, is donate $500 to Give Kids the World tomorrow. The $500 will be subtracted from the drive total at the end of next week, and the remaining money will be sent to another charity. I just didn’t want to pass up the chance to double the money!
To donate, you’ll need to join FirstGiving, I believe ( I’m new to the site as well ). I have a page at: http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/SeanLocke/givingtuesday , but if you don’t want to be on my “team”, you can create your own. I don’t think it really matters either way.
