Halloween is almost here! That means Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Then the winter holidays, like Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. Advertising designers are in full swing right now. Budgets are tight, so I’m going to give you an early holiday gift! You’ll have to read down to get it though – so first, a look at my recent additions to my online stock image portfolio for the holidays.
I’m still working on getting my content back online for licensing, working through re-processing and meta-data addition. The last few weeks, I’ve made it a priority to work through some of my holiday images and get them into my portfolio at Photoshelter.
First, a collection of non-people images of miscellaneous holiday items and themes. We’ve got ornaments, pumpkins, stockings, gifts and more. Some isolated on white, and some not.

How about some images for Thanksgiving? This series with a pair of children has a boy dressed in traditional Pilgrim costume, and a girl dressed as an American Indian. The series is isolated on a white background for easy drop into advertisements. Picture the Pilgrim with a telescope and copy that says “Discover big savings at our Pre-Thanksgiving Sale!”. The are other props and poses as well, including some illustration panels that I had custom created by an artist friend.

How about a series that covers Hanukkah and Christmas, both separately and at the same time? A family – mom, dad and daughter – at home celebrates the individual holidays, and there are some as well that can be used for an interfaith Jewish-Christian context. The family is playing dreidel, lighting the menorah and opening Christmas gifts – both in daily clothing and pajamas (for Christmas morning).

Last for today, there’s a short series of a couple erecting a Christmas Tree against a blank wall. From stand to star, there’s lots of copyspace here, and you could even put them together for a timelapse video or something.
