iStockphoto Raises Main Collection Pricing

Less than a year ago, iStockphoto did a big shakeup on their collection structure and pricing, details of which can be found in this article : Half the Price Forever, Really? Well, it’s been almost a year, and in the last few days, they’ve raised the pricing of the Main collection of images.

Mother’s Day Stock Images 2014

Last year, just in time for Mother’s Day, I put up a new series on Stocksy United with a little girl making M-O-M cupcakes, and making breakfast for her mother.  This year, I’ve got two new series online, and the concentration is on babies!

Contributors Removing Content From Fotolia

When “microstock” was born, it came about because of a frustration with the traditional stock houses and their tight membership.  From free sharing between designers, a combination of pricing and sales increases brought the industry to a place where contributors could earn a living with some hard work.  Now, photographers are experiencing the opposite with some agencies – case in point, a recent move by Fotolia that has many contributors declaring May 1 (today) as “D-Day”.
