Thanksgiving on the Horizon

Here in the US, Thanksgiving means family.  It’s all about gathering with relatives, watching the parade or a football game, having a big turkey dinner, and starting to plan for the Christmas (or Hanukkah) holiday.  I love to cook, so prepping 5-8 comfort food dishes, trying to get them to the table on time, is a fun challenge.  Heck, I couldn’t wait, so I made a roasted turkey breast and apple/date/pecan dressing last week.  Also, my favorite holiday “special” arises from the dvd library: A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving also means big business, most notably for the kick off of the holiday shopping season with Black Friday.  Ads galore hit the stoop with the Thursday newspaper.  So, in light of that, I’m showcasing some new Thanksgiving images in my Holiday2010 collection today, as well as a couple from the past.

Recently, in my studio, I built a “stage” backed by velvet curtains – the perfect setting for the “Student Thanksgiving Pageant”, the annual play that we all remember from being kids.  The students are 8-10 years old, dressed as Pilgrims and Indians.  This series includes a new model of Indian ethnicity, playing an American Indian, as well as a male Caucasian teacher running the show.  In addition, the boy and girl dressed as a Pilgrim and Native American did some additional isolated images on the white background.  Easy to drop into your advertisements, newsletters, etc.

And here’s a few relevant and favorite ones from years past.
