Today, I’m showcasing a new stock photo series, available exclusively on Stocksy United. The theme is “Meal Kit” and the series is a great illustration for a very popular trend in healthy eating and cooking these days.
People are busy. They don’t have time to shop the supermarket. They don’t have time to search out recipes. Home time is at a premium. That’s why quite a few “meal kit” providers have popped up in the last few years. You know them – places like Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, and the like. You order a certain amount of meals, and the (mostly) prepped ingredients get shipped right to your door. Easy to follow instructions allow you to create a gourmet meal without the food waste of buying large amounts of items you won’t need again, and with a minimum of prep time, as the ingredients are mostly pre-measured.
For this series, I checked out a few unboxing videos on youtube to get an idea of how the meals are packaged. The box, and its contents, in the images are my own creation. All the labels and such. So, to start off, there’s a set of images just featuring the box and the ingredients, on a blue textured background. Good for illustrative articles about the trend. Then we have a couple in a modern kitchen unboxing the kit to start. There are two meals in the box, so there are two proteins. We focus on the sirloin steak as they prepare the steak and asparagus dish. The series finishes off with them enjoying the meal and snapping some photos of their success.
There are a variety of compositions, some with the people in more anonymous poses, and some that focus on them as they cook. These would also be good for general lifestyle needs for ads or articles about time, jobs, convienence, etc.
