Portfolio Update – “Cooking Class” and “Sign Language”

Two new stock image/video series to feature today, and they’re exclusively at Stocksy United!

First off, I had a great time photographing a recent cooking class by Chef Ashok, here in St. Louis.  The class was actually part one of a 10 woman bachelorette party!  They had a lot of fun as Chef led them through several dishes they all made themselves, including a seafood paella.  It was a bit unusual for some of them as they weren’t quite sure about the calamari, mussels and shrimp.

There was a friendly competition amongst the three groups as to who had the best result.  The environment is a really unique school classroom lifted straight from the 1970’s.  Thus, all the pastel colors and art-deco-ish cabinetry.  The women finished their experience, by enjoying their creations and having a few glasses of wine.  You can see some images below, or check out the whole series here: https://www.stocksy.com/sjlocke/shoot/95049

The next series helps to fill a niche at Stocksy, and actually in the stock photo industry.  It’s a photo and video set around the theme of American Sign Language, or ASL.  My model is a woman skilled in this form of communication, and the shoot was two parts.  First, we did some popular phrases, like “Tomorrow is another day”, “Life is beautiful”, “Be Fearless” and that sort of thing.  Then she and another person sat down for lunch at a cafe and did some casual conversation.  I’d like to do some more content along these lines, if I can find a family that knows ASL, so if you know anyone, please have them get in touch!  See the whole series here, and thanks for stopping by! https://www.stocksy.com/sjlocke/shoot/95342
